Anke Schmidt has headed the Corporate Communications & Government Relations unit at Beiersdorf, the manufacturer of well-known brands such as NIVEA, EUCERIN, HANSAPLAST, Labello, and tesa, since September 2020. Prior to that, she spent 24 years in various management positions in communications and human resources at BASF in Germany and abroad – including as Head of Corporate Communications Asia Pacific based in Singapore and Hong Kong and as Head of the Global Talent Management unit. Most recently, Anke Schmidt was responsible for the Corporate Communications & Government Relations unit of the BASF Group from 2016-2020. She moved to Beiersdorf in Hamburg in 2020.

Schmidt has been a member of the Executive Board of the Academic Society since January 2023 and represents the interests of the partner companies (Corporate Advisory Board).
