Christiane Ribeiro is new on our Corporate Advisory Board

Christiane Ribeiro, Siemens

We are delighted to welcome Christiane Ribeiro to the Academic Society’s Corporate Advisory Board. She joins us as the new Chief Communications Officer (CCO) of Siemens, a role she assumed in March 2025.

Christiane has been with Siemens for nearly 25 years, beginning her career at Siemens Brazil in 2001. Since then she has held various leadership roles, including Head of Communications and Government Relations for Siemens Australia and New Zealand, Head of Innovation Communications and Communications Business Partner to Roland Busch as Chief Technology Officer and Deputy CEO.

Before becoming the leader of Siemens’ global communications, Christiane served as Head of CEO Communications, Strategic Messaging, and Thought Leadership. She also led communications for the newly launched “ONE Tech Company”, a program designed to accelerate growth.

Talking business & getting personal

We enjoyed a brief exchange with Christiane to get to know her better. She shared her motivation, offered inspiring insights from her communications journey, and brought a bit of her Brazilian spirit to the conversation.

What motivated you to take on the role of Chief Communication Officer at Siemens, and what excites you most about this opportunity?

I’ve always loved this company — the technology, the people, and what we achieve together with our customers around the world. It’s a privilege to tell the stories of our people, our partners, and the real difference our technology makes. Communications has never been more crucial — just look at the world around us. In my new role, I’m particularly excited to build a world-class tech comms team that enables Siemens to win hearts, minds, and markets. Strategic thinking, storytelling, and AI are at the core of it.

What is the most important lesson on communication you have learned in your career so far?

People need to like you to truly listen. Connection comes before persuasion. Win their hearts first, then their minds — maybe it’s a Brazilian thing 🙂

If you could conduct any research to better understand challenges and opportunities in communication at Siemens, what would you focus on?

Strategic communications, storytelling, and AI to boost impact, creativity and efficiency.

What is your favorite thing to do on the weekend?

Definitely spending time with my family – I have two boys, 13 and 6. There’s always music around: I love playing the guitar and trying out new jump rope choreography (not easy, but fun!)

How would your 10-year-old self react to what you do now?

She’d be very happy — especially with her hair now 🙂
That wasn’t always the case back then!

If you could go to any place in the world, where would you go and why?

I’d go to Iceland. Ever since I watched The Secret Life of Walter Mitty with Ben Stiller, I’ve been dreaming of that nature and calmness. I’m planning it for my 50th birthday — fingers crossed, I’ll make it!

Thank you, Christiane Ribeiro. We are pleased to welcome you to the Academic Society and look forward to working with you!
