Talking business & getting personal
We talked to Marc about the communication challenges, Salesforce is currently facing and why he decided to partner with the Academic Society. We also got a glimpse into his personal and professional life.
What do you enjoy most about your role at Salesforce?
The current AI and data revolution is leading to an enormous acceleration of global change processes and will also have a lasting impact on internal and external communications. Operating at the center of this transformation is absolutely fascinating.
What is the most significant communication challenge your company is currently facing?
For many SMEs, digital transformation is still an enormous challenge. We want to support our sales team by using examples from other successful companies to show the opportunities that AI offers in customer relationship management if it guarantees the trustworthy handling of data.
Why did you choose to partner with the Academic Society
I have been a loyal member of the Academic Society for well over 10 years, first during my time at Daimler, then at McKesson. In my opinion, it is the only organization in our profession that brings science and business together in such a productive way. The findings from the studies and discussions have repeatedly inspired me and my teams to develop new approaches over the years.
What is the best advice you have ever received?
Stay the same, whether you’re at home or at work. Especially recommended for working from home.
What was the most remarkable place you have been to?
It’s absolutely impossible to name one place here: a lot has come together over the decades, both privately and professionally. But what has always particularly impressed me over the years are the early mornings in the savannah during my numerous trips to Africa.
What are your favorite blogs, newspapers, or magazines to read?
Again, I can’t name one blog or medium. I enjoy the variety of information options far too much, especially in the digital world. However, GEO is the last print product that has a permanent place on my desk.
Thank you for the Interview Marc Binder and welcome to the Academic Society!
