Trusted exchange, joint reflection – practice & academia in dialogue

The Circle Sessions bring together senior leaders from our partners in academia and practice. In a trusted setting, we discuss current questions in corporate communications. Each session opens with a five-minute impulse from practice or academia, followed by a joint exchange on the selected topic.

Our Circle Sessions usually take place 6 times per year in a digital format and are held in person once or twice a year. Topics are suggested by our partners.

Our next session

  • Date: Friday, October 30th, 2026
  • Time: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., digital

This session focuses on the use of artificial intelligence in media monitoring and issue management. The impulse will be delivered by Dr. Kai Rolker, Head of Communications at Clariant.

Our impulse speaker

Dr. Kai Rolker has been Head of Communications at Clariant since 2014. He is responsible for the company’s communications activities worldwide, including corporate communications, marketing and crisis communications. Previously, he was Director Marketing Communications at the medical technology company Synthes. He studied philosophy and ancient history in Berlin and received his doctorate in Tübingen in 2002. He also completed a Master of Advanced Studies in Communication Management at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts.

Impulse topic: Artificial intelligence is changing what is possible in media monitoring and issue management: Large volumes of media coverage and public debate can be analysed more quickly, emerging issues identified earlier and developments tracked continuously. At the same time, questions remain about the reliability of AI-supported analyses and forecasts. The session aims to provide an opportunity to exchange experiences with AI in media monitoring and issue management and to discuss how it is changing ways of working and the demands placed on communications teams.
