ECM 2024/25: Insights into Tensions of Corporate Communication
New study shows how chief communication officers from the 300 largest European companies are tackling key challenges in geopolitical crises, artificial intelligence, and managerial learning.
The European Communication Monitor (ECM) is the longest-running and largest academic study exploring the field of corporate communications worldwide. The nonprofit project is formally organised by the European Public Relations Education and Research Association (EUPRERA) and sponsored by the Academic Society, among other initiatives.
In it’s latest iteration the study introduces a new and ambitious research design. It involves interviewing a random sample of top leaders from the elite group of Chief Communication Officers (CCOs) in the 300 largest companies headquartered in Europe. This includes renowned firms such as Adidas, AXA, Ferrero, IKEA, Nestlé, Santander, Siemens, Unilever, and many more across various industries. The collected experiences, forecasts, and observations from these leaders are analyzed to offer unique insights into three key topics that generate significant tensions in modern communication management:
- the need of companies to deal with geopolitical risks
- the adoption of artificial intelligence in communication departments
- and the managerial learning practices of CCOs that ensure innovation and excellence.
The ECM 2024/25 is conducted by a team of six renowned professors from universities across Europe. It is also supported by key industry players and meets the highest standards of scientific rigor and neutrality.
