First AI Competency Test for Communications Professionals Published

COMM-AIT is the world’s first scientifically based online AI competency test specifically designed for communications professionals. It was developed at Leipzig University in collaboration with the Academic Society for Management & Communication and Siemens AG, and is available online free of charge.

Using AI tools is now one of the key qualifications in the communications profession. But technical know-how alone is not enough. Strategic understanding, ethical reflection, and a clear perspective on the meaningful use of artificial intelligence are equally important.

“COMM-AIT is based on the latest scientific findings on how AI-related competencies can be analyzed and developed”, explains Ansgar Zerfass, Professor of Strategic Communication at the Leipzig University.

The test evaluates three dimensions: knowledge, skills, and attitudes in dealing with AI tools and services. Participants receive a personal AI Competency Index that categorizes their individual competency level in stages. In addition, a detailed competency profile highlights areas of strength and opportunities for development.

The test is available free of charge in German and English at www.comm-ait.com and is aimed at anyone working in the communications industry — in companies, organizations, PR and communications agencies, service providers, or as freelancers.
