Sophia Charlotte Volk, Ph.D., is Professor of Strategic Communication at the Department of Media and Communication (IfKW) at LMU Munich. Previously, she was a Senior Research and Teaching Associate at the Department of Communication and Media Research (IKMZ) at the University of Zurich in Switzerland. She received her Ph.D. from Leipzig University, where she was a Research Associate at the Chair of Strategic Communication.

Her research interests include strategic communication, science communication, evaluation and impact measurement, digital media environments and technologies like generative AI. She uses quantitative, qualitative as well as international comparative methods.

She currently serves as Representative of the Public Relations/Organizational Communication Division of the German Communication Association (DGPuK) and is editorial board member of Corporate Communications: an International Journal, International Journal of Strategic Communication und Public Relations Review. Sophia Charlotte Volk is actively engaged in public outreach and practice transfer, and has co-authored the book „Toolbox Kommunikationsmanagement“ (Springer Gabler, 2019), which presents a variety of management tools and evaluation methods for corporate communication.
