Trusted exchange, joint reflection – practice & academia in dialogue

The Circle Sessions bring together senior leaders from our partners in academia and practice. In a trusted setting, we discuss current questions in corporate communications. Each session opens with a five-minute impulse from practice or academia, followed by a joint exchange on the selected topic.

Our Circle Sessions usually take place monthly in a digital format and are held in person once or twice a year. Topics are suggested proactively and at short notice by our partners.

Our next session

  • Date: Friday, September 25, 2026
  • Time: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., digital

The session focuses on benchmarking in corporate communications. Sebastian Ackermann will deliver the impulse, and the session will be facilitated by Prof. Ansgar Zerfass.

Our impulse speaker

Sebastian Ackermann is Head of Group Communications, Brand, and Reputation at EnBW.

Impulse topic: Benchmarking studies by management consultancies are frequently used as a basis for decisions on budgets, resources, structures, and task allocation in communication organizations. The comparative figures presented often carry considerable weight, even though data foundations and methodological assumptions are not always fully transparent. The session aims to exchange experiences with this type of benchmarking and how to deal with it.

Participation

Participation is reserved for senior leaders of our partners from academia and practice. We send out invitations personally.
