About the research project

Title: Communication Management Radar 2026

Term: 2025

The Communication Management Radar 2026 identifies interdisciplinary phenomena in management, technology, psychology and media that are currently taking shape and will lead to challenges and opportunities for corporate communication in the near future. It deals with both new and previously neglected topics that provide food for thought to further develop strategic communication in turbulent times and make it fit for the future.

The project pursues three central objectives:

  1. Reflection: Systematic observation and evaluation of topics and discourses from related disciplines with potential significance for corporate communications.
  2. Practical impulse: Preparation of relevant topics for strategic orientation for communication practice – beyond short-term hypes or operational trends.
  3. Research impetus: Identification of research needs and development of relevant questions for an application-oriented, future-oriented communication science.

Methodology

Topic scouting: Identification of relevant topics by the scientific team in the three areas of management & business psychology, media & journalism, technology & digitalization; focus on and in-depth preparation of five central topics.

Practical dialog: Three virtual workshops with 4 to 10 leading communication managers each to discuss the relevance and connectivity of the topics.
