In today’s competitive labor market, attracting and retaining top talent is critical to organizational success. In fact, fostering an appreciative climate in organizations is not just a nice-to-have—it’s a necessity.

Sabine Einwiller (University of Vienna) and Julia Stranzl (Vienna University of Economics and Business) will first present the results of their extensive research project on appreciation: What do employees expect? In which ways can leaders convey appreciation? And how can internal communication support this?

The two will then discuss the results with Sven Korndörffer, who has worked in various management positions for many years, most recently as Divisional Board Member for Group Communications at Commerzbank AG.

• Dr Sabine Einwiller is Professor for Public Relations Research at the University of Vienna.
• Dr Julia Stranzl is a Post-Doc at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
• Sven Korndörffer is the Chairman of the Board of the Wertekommission (German Values Commission) and author of the book “Die Wertschätzungskette” (The value chain).
