About the research project
Title: Corporate Communication Review – Research and insights for communication leaders
Team: Prof Sabine Einwiller (University of Vienna), Prof Ansgar Zerfass, Dr Michelle Wloka (Leipzig University)
Project period: from 2025
Corporate Communication Review is a new open access magazine that bridges the gap between academia and professional practice in strategic communication, communication management and corporate affairs.
Published by the Academic Society for Management & Communication, in collaboration with the Institute for Public Relations, EUPRERA, and the EACD, the magazine offers research-based, practice-oriented insights for communication professionals worldwide.
Each issue is curated by an international editorial board of renowned academics, global CCOs and thought leaders.
The Corporate Communication Review will be published twice a year. Upcoming issues will continue to explore the topics shaping the future of corporate communication. The magazine is always open access, free of charge, and practice-oriented.
The Magazine
For leaders and practitioners, the magazine provides inspiring reflections on their business, food for thought for debates in their teams and with top executives, and contacts to peers and high- profile researchers who are intrigued to collaborate with the practice.
Researchers can equally benefit by gaining access to a high-quality publishing platform to dissemi- nate valuable knowledge, finding inspiration for future fieldwork, and meeting the growing demand to contribute to the “Third Mission” of universities.
The magazine contains diverse formats, facilitating getting access to state-of-the-art academic research:
- Research insights, summarizing recent empirical or conceptual studies with practical relevance.
- Knowledge sections, providing comprehensive overviews of key concepts such as reputation, CEOcommunication, and measurement.
- Study highlights, showcasing relevant research from adjacent disciplines such as digital media andleadership trends.
- Case studies, based on short interviews with CCOs on key insights related to the knowledge sectiontopic or research finding.
- Book reviews, recommending thought-provoking reads for the field.
Initiated by the Academic Society – Here’s Our Why

“Corporate Communication Review is a distinctive and easy digestible resource that combines academically rigorous research with practical relevance. It represents a significant step forward in bridging the current gap between academic publications and trade magazines in the communications field.”
Ansgar Zerfaß, Chair of the Executive Board
The Academic Society for Management & Communication initiated this project as part of its mission to foster knowledge transfer, make cutting-edge research more accessible, and help communication leaders benefit from academic insights.
While magazines for business management are well established (e.g., Harvard Business Review, MIT Sloan), the Corporate Communication Review is the first for communication.
